Overview: The Kansas Run Club (KRC), founded in spring 2023 by Jacob Bentzinger as part of the States Run Club network, is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of passionate runners. Meeting weekly—KRC welcomes runners of all levels and backgrounds. Through inclusivity, collaborative events, and community support, KRC promotes personal growth, lifelong friendships, and excellence both on and off the pavement. Our mission is simple: community first, running second. Community has always been the goal, running is how we do it.

Weekly Group Run Event Overview

  • Date: Every Wednesday

  • Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Location: Mill Creek Park Fountain near Country Club Plaza.

Agenda

Arrival and Check-In (6:00 PM - 6:30 PM)

Runners arrive and gather at Mill Creek Park Fountain near Country Club Plaza.

Check-in process and socializing.

Kickoff Announcements (6:30 PM - 6:35 PM)

Welcome and introduction by Jacob Bentzinger or a KRC representative.

Introduction of first-time runners.

Briefing on runner safety.

Explanation of the mapped-out route for the night.

Information on giveaways and upcoming elevated events.

Group Run (6:35 PM - 7:10 PM)

Start the run as a large group, with the possibility of forming pace groups.

Route - Three miles around Country Club Plaza and the surrounding area. Route Varies per week.

Post-Run Social (7:100 PM - 8:00 PM)

Gather outside to cool down and socialize.

Optional visit to a local bar for drinks and further socializing.

run HER way

All women group runs that happen quarterly. In a celebration of strength, unity, and community, run HER way invites women runners of all levels to join a special women-led group run at Kansas City’s iconic WWI Memorial Park. Hosted by the States Run Club network, this for women, by women event provides a welcoming space for women to come together, run, connect, and empower one another.
